Feeding Devon is a passionate and dedicated network of more than 30 organisations – including food banks, food aid charities, community groups and voluntary organisations – committed to ending hunger in their local communities. The pilot aims to improve food crisis support across the region, ensuring that no child goes hungry and that no household – whether a family or a vulnerable individual – has to choose between ‘Heat or Eat’. We will work to increase awareness amongst decision-makers about the root causes of hunger, whilst tackling these issues in our communities and creating a ‘Pathways’ programme of support for those in need. Food insecurity is the tip of the iceberg, and we aim to reach out to support and assist those who are struggling to provide for themselves and their loved ones. – Stella & Rachel

How We Work

The ‘Feeding Devon’ Partnership is a FREE membership organisation which includes charities, social enterprises, health providers, religious organisations, housing associations, and community projects. The pilot sits within the ‘Feeding Britain’ organisation which commissioned – in partnership with the Community Foundation and the Esme Fairbank Trust – the initial ‘Pathways from Poverty Project’ undertaken in 2019/20. Our work includes:

  • Sourcing funding to sustain ongoing project work
  • Developing resilient food distribution networks
  • Working closely with pilot food projects to offer tailored mentoring and guidance.
  • Mapping the existing food support network within the county.
